Visitor Information

Admission

Admission to the Art Gallery and Rotunda is £3 for adults. This entitles you to an Annual Pass, which covers entry to both venues for 12 months from the date of issue. We may charge extra for some special events during the year.

Entry for under 18s is free.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Free entry is available to Art Fund National Art Pass holders and members of the Museums Association, ICOM and Engage (with valid card).

We ask you to gift aid your admission charge if you can. This enables us to reclaim 25p on every pound you give at no extra cost to yourself.

Opening Times

The Rotunda Museum and the Art Gallery are open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday-Sunday, and on Bank Holiday Mondays.

We are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Access Information

The Rotunda Museum is fully wheelchair accessible throughout, including toilet facilities.

The Art Gallery has full access to the ground floor and shop only. We regret that wheelchair users cannot currently access our temporary exhibition space or toilet facilities on the first floor.

Support dogs are welcome in both venues. Induction loops are also available.

Both venues are breast feeding friendly and our staff are all trained to be Dementia Friends.

Photography policy

Visitors are permitted to take photographs in the galleries for their personal, educational use only. We may occasionally ask you not to use cameras in some of our galleries or exhibitions when the owners of the works on display place restrictions on photography, usually to avoid breach of copyright. Where we cannot allow visitors to take pictures a No Photography notice will be displayed, and we kindly ask that you respect this.

Use of tripods is permitted, but we ask that you do not use flash photography and be considerate of other visitors.

If you wish to use an image of an object from the Museum or Gallery’s collections, please use our enquiry form to request permission.
